Organize Girly Products

Now that I have a potty trained toddler I have some extra baby wipe containers. I have saved them to use for Pinterest projects. Then I had a need to store my girly products but wanted to hide them from a certain 2.5 year old.
Perfect! :)

Florida or Bust!

Well, we successfully made to to Florida and back! We traveled over 30 hours in the car with a 2.5 year old and we all lived!! Parker did very well in the car and had a blast visiting with family. Our gracious hosts Shannon and Joel were great. They have a beautiful house and made us feel right at home. Grandma Gibbs and Rich loved seeing Parker. They helped Parker treat mommy & daddy to a day at Lego land. It was great spending time with Ray's family. Here are some pics to document our travels!

Family pic at a rest stop in Kentucky!

Parker earned little gifts along the way! The bucket on the head was pure craziness :)

We also visited with Ray's Uncle Dan & Brenda. We had a family cookout and Parker loved their pool!! :) He also loved Uncle Dan!!

As you can see from all the pics below we had a GREAT time at Lego Land

Parker warmed right up to Joel. He helped him water the plants and was pretty much attached to his leg when he was around.

Shannon, Rich, Grandma Gibbs, Parker & Ray :)

We had a great vacation with wonderful people! We are looking forward to visiting again soon. Next time I think we will fly! :)

Pinterest obsession

What did we do before Pinterest? How did we eat? How did we know how to clean? How did we know what crafts to make??
These are the pressing questions of the day! :) Really, I love Pinterest!! Others complain about not doing anything with the ideas they pin but I have been on a roll! Here are a few projects we have completed...
Lego table! The mat is being held down by 3M innovation sticky tabs. Should come off with no problem.

My first turkey.... found recipe on Pinterest

Picture frame from Michael's. Spray painted. Hooks to hold decorative items (can't see these, hubby put them on the inside lip of the frame). Last but not least 3M innovation velcro strips to hold this on the door. Will post a new picture soon of the decorations in the frame.

Cute ideas on cheap decorations. Printed Valentine's day sheet & framed with existing frame. Made the banner with paper plates we had at home.

Love this sight and hope to do more projects! The food recipes have been a wonderful help as we try to eat out less. More to come about our Pinterest food ideas!

Luggage Tag for New Parents

When Parker was born a great friend gave me this luggage tag with a list of items to keep in the diaper bag. As a new parent it can be hard to know and remember everything you should pack. Her story went something like this... took her daughter to the doctor & the nurse said ,"Take off all of her clothes, wrap her in a blanket and bring her to the scale." Well being new parents they didn't have a blanket packed! There daughter was fine but having a list like this might make a new parents day! :)

Food & Memories

Sausage, Potatoes & Green Beans

Growing up we had family friends who's mom would make a recipe similar to this. I think I have it mastered!! Smells can often bring back memories for me. This dish takes me back to fun carefree days playing until the sun went down! I have great memories of eating this dish and today it still makes me smile!! :)

Here is a recipe from All Recipes below is a modification that I use when making this dish:

I wanted to cook indoors, so I preheated the oven to 425. In the meantime, I seared the sausage with some Worcestershire sauce just to seal in the flavor, then added this to a nonstick-sprayed roasting pan and mixed in the potatoes & drizzled with olive oil, Kosher salt, ground black pepper, garlic powder: I often toss in other spices or even a little Mrs. Dash. In the same skillet with the sausage juices, I sauteed the green beans with 4 cloves minced garlic and a bit of olive oil to soften. I then added this to this mixture to the roasting pan and tossed all the ingredients together to coat. Finally, I covered the pan with aluminum foil and baked for 40 minutes, removing the foil for the last 15 minutes, and stirring occasionally.

Homemade Diaper Rash Cream

I don't know what you do on a Saturday night but mine was spent making homemade diaper rash cream! Yeah for me!! :) Parker has been sick and to get him to take his meds I was mixing it in his cereal. To add some flavor I was using apple juice. Well, that turned out to be s bad idead. That then led to a super bad diaper rash. Nothing seemed to work so I turned to the internet. This cream was super easy to make and worked wonders! I bought some containers to put this in so I wasn't using ones we would want to put food in later. This also made it easy to make up a batch for a friend. I used the Target brand maalox and Aquaphor. I started with 4 tablespoons of maalox and add the Aquaphor until it looked like this! I would highly suggest having this on hand BEFORE you might need it!! :)

Organizing Garden Flags

Here is an easy way to organize your decorative outdoor flags. The hanger is a pants hanger with a plastic coating. It can hold 5 flags and fits great in the hall closet! This keeps the flags organized and easy to find.
