5 months & Surgery

When Parker was born he had an increased heart rate which means he could not have his "junk" worked on. Well, that meant that we had to go visit a urologist. So when we went in they noticed that his "fire hose" was a little off center. So not only did he had to go in and have a little taken off the top, they also had to center the spout. I use these funny terms because it just sounds better and I really don't want this to come back to haunt him later in life! :) So last Tuesday we took him in for what we call his "junk-ectimy." Ray and I were nervous but we knew he was in the best hands at Nationwide Children's Hospital. He did great and won over all of the nurses. It was a rough day since he couldn't eat past 3am and had to be at the hospital at 6am. He promptly went back for surgery at 8am and he was in recovery with us by 10:45am. As you can see from the pictures above he was happy and then drowsy! :)
He is now healing nicely! ;) More pictures and posts to come but wanted to catch you up... :)

Our Schedules...
We are lucky enough to say that he spends most days with his Daddy, some afternoons with Grandma and Mommy the rest of the time.
Monday - Ray off
Tuesday - Ray off
Wednesday - Grandma Terry over at 3:30,
Ray at work 4-9pm,
Leslie home by 5:30pm
Thursday - Leslie work from home, Ray works 8 hour shift
Friday - see Wed schedule :)
Saturday/Sunday - Ray works 8 hours

I love having my mommy time and then my work time. I feel like superwomen (most days) when I can have a good day at work and then come home and have a great night at home. I am also pumping three times a day at work so I also feel very rewarded that I can provide enough milk for the next days feedings. Don't get me wrong, it can be VERY stressful working full-time and then coming home to another full-time job but Parker and Ray make it all worth it! We are also so blessed to have such a great support system in place. We love our family and friends so very much! Our life can be crazy at times but we are enjoying the ride.

First try with cereal...
Well, Parker loved eating his cereal for the first time...
But his belly didn't like it! He woke up around 11pm and was super unhappy. He had bad gas & was fussy all night. Needless to say no more cereal for a while. Mom & Dad were excited to try something new. Next time we try something new it will be over a weekend when we don't have to get up so early for work. Lesson learned!

We won't be famous
Well, if you have been watching, One Born Every Minute, on Lifetime you know that the season one is over and we were not featured. I am ok, a little sad but I am ok! :)
We are very excited to receive our footage from the show and hope to share this with everyone we can! How many people have the opportunity to have their child's birth professionally taped and edited?? We are so grateful to have had this opportunity to tell our story and have Parker's birth documented in such a unique way.
Riverside hopsital did have everyone who was filmed come in for a day of education and fun. While we are there I told a short version of our delivery story. Here is a link to the video http://blog.birthofamom.com/2011/03/riverside-methodist-staff-go-the-extra-mile-for-mom-leslie/
Hope you enjoy!
